New Year’s Resolution: Stop "Just Existing"
and Start Living Your Life!

Are you the production manager, getting the
job done and never having a life? Or are you
studying on the sidelines and always
planning for the game of life? Are you the
bridesmaid and never the bride? You’ve
watched the Secret, know about the Law of
Attraction, understand quantum physics and
the entanglement theories of “What the
Bleep do We Know?”, subscribed to Notes
from the Universe (TUT.com), went to an
Esther Hicks Abraham workshop, done Donna
Eden and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT),
watched Oprah and Dr Ohmet Oz, read all Dr
Phil’s and Bryon Katies’ insightful books,
taken all Adam the Dream Healer workshops,
and been to Michael Beckwith, James Ray, Ray
Cantfield, Bob Proctor, Lisa Williams’
positive thinking seminars, created your
vision board, and still aren’t having the
life you envisioned. Do you feel “stuck” in
your rut “just existing”? Make a New Year’s
resolution to live your life, no longer as
the studious observer event planner, forever
the participatory player!
Stop "processing" and start "progressing!"
Although you’ve read, understood, examined,
analyzed, justified and explained everything
you’ve processed in your mind, have you done
anything about it? Many times on a
spiritual, self help, self growth, or self
development journey you feel you have gifts,
talents, opportunities and options that you
are not using. You believe that you are here
to benefit others or know inside yourself
that you came to have a different life.
However, with your very busy life of career
and social activities, lessons, classes,
readings, experiential workshops, seminars,
and lectures you still are not
actually moving forward in life.
You feel like you just exist.
Stop "processing" and start "progressing!"
Do you feel like you have read and done
everything that you can? Do you keep telling
yourself you are moving forward, yet forward
resembles a gerbil on a spinning wheel?
Then you’re in “processing” mode.
“Processing” is about reading, watching,
listening to, mulling over and analyzing
lots of material whether in educational,
career, or social venues, experiential
activities or just conversations with your
friends. Even great dreams at night
constitute sub conscious processing.
If you’re thinking about a New Year’s
resolution, altering and living a few
words in your vocabulary will bring
productive changes into your life. “IF” is
a tiny word with huge ramifications. “IF”
suggests a probability, not a current now
factual happening. IF I do this or that,
sets up "never never" land thinking. “If”
used for planning stages allows hypothetical
thinking that can be changed to become an
actual event. “IF” is part of the
processing mode.
“WHEN” I do so and so. “When” is also
processing verbiage. “When” begets more data
gathering or discussions and sometimes
hollow intentions before your “rubber hits
the road.” Facts you process in the “when”
stage usually contribute to and help create
the action of going forward in your life.
“When” also hypothetical thinking explores
what you could, would or ought to do or
rather do, rather than claiming “I AM” doing
this!
Example: You want to go to Paris. Reading
brochures, studying French, learning current
currency rates, having your passport made,
is all about processing your intended trip.
Buying the plane ticket is “progressing”
because you’ve moved out of your fact
finding “processing” to ACT!
Your ACTION sets your trip in motion. Your
action makes your trip intention concrete
and not just a discussion forum, an
analytical educational analysis, or a
hypothetical dream.
“Progressing” in life is “I AM” going to the
gym (within a specified timeframe that very
day).
Deciding which gym is the best, what
exercise do I need to focus on, how many
days should I exercise, which tennis shoes
do I wear, are all active choice
making ingredients borne within your
journey’s progression. While living
and doing activities, various
participation choices, on the spot
decision making, fact gathering, assessments
and evaluative dialog is progressing,
because you make the choice and act on it
immediately.
Learning by doing
is progressing. Processing includes
studying, assessing and following thru on
your cumulative fact findings derived from
your ‘IF” or “When” hypothetical while
you are experiencing.
Progressing includes using “when” or “if” as
a research tool to understand how to
accomplish or maximize what you ARE
currently doing.
You won’t flourish with a new life if you
just nourish your dreams with abstract
thinking, analytical “what if’s” and “when
I” planning. Actions make your thoughts
progressing realities. Even if you choose a
wrong “action” you are progressing with the
“learning opportunity” you created from your
choice.
Processing and hollow intentions keeps your
life in remission. Processing is
participatory practice of intention
at the highest level. You’re always the
understudy learning and planning how to act
the part, but never being on the
stage of life. You are the perpetual
understudy, not the actor.
Progressing is living action;
evolving, expanding and learning no matter
where each choice or experience in your
life’s journey takes you! Life is what you
choose to do breath by breath. Be all you
are and can be, not one iota less.
